Pedestrian Detection powered by NVIDIA Jetson Orin Premieres in On-
Stand Demo
Embargoed 10 th February, 2025. Las Vegas, USA. Today, at Manifest (Booth 1341) Slamcore
will premiere the first live demonstration of its next-generation Slamcore Aware product
incorporating pedestrian detection. This updated module, featuring sleeker footprint and lower
weight as well as the enhanced pedestrian detection capabilities, can be retrofitted to any
manually driven vehicle used in warehouse or factory environments. Visit Booth 1341 for a live
demonstration of pedestrian detection in action.
Slamcore Aware is a self-contained module that brings the power of visual and spatial AI to
manually driven vehicles for intralogistics and warehouse scenarios. It was originally designed
to track the location of forklifts and other manual vehicles in real time. The new ability to
autonomously detect pedestrians amidst busy and fast moving mixed-traffic situations now adds
considerable safety and efficiency benefits.
Leveraging the power of the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX module and the sixth generation of NVIDIA
JetPack SDK for AI-at-the-edge development, Slamcore Aware processes visual data from
standard cameras, on-board, in real time, labelling the objects ‘seen’ by the vehicle. It
automatically distinguishes pedestrians from other vehicles and stationery objects such as
pallets and calculates their position relative to the vehicle and within the wider facility.
Warehouse and intralogistics fleet management systems can use this data to improve
efficiency, create custom driver alerts or to enact and enforce safety protocols. For example,
drivers can be alerted when a pedestrian is in their path, flagging the person's location to all
other vehicles and robots in the area. This effectively allows the fleet to see round corners and
through shelves increasing safety for all in the facility.
