Slamcore announces the launch of Slamcore Alert, a new driver awareness solution designed to improve safety in high-throughput warehouse environments where lift trucks, pedestrians, and automation frequently intersect. Built as an add-on to Slamcore’s existing RTLS solution, Slamcore Aware, Slamcore Alert delivers real-time audio-visual alerts that help operators remain aware of nearby pedestrians, even in busy, noisy, or fast-moving facilities.
With thousands of daily interactions between people and industrial vehicles, warehouses face persistent safety challenges. Around 36% of forklift-related fatalities involve pedestrians, and between 35,000 and 62,000 forklift-related injuries occur each year. Beyond the human impact, collisions lead to significant financial costs, with smaller operations often incurring $30,000–$40,000 annually in repairs, and large sites exceeding $100,000–$300,000, alongside average workers’ compensation claims of $41,000.
Slamcore Alert addresses these challenges using a highly trained AI that not only detects pedestrians around a vehicle but also understands the truck’s precise location in real time. By combining pedestrian detection with vehicle localization, the system generates context-aware alerts that reduce false positives and avoid alert fatigue. When a pedestrian enters a defined alert zone, clear audio-visual indicators are triggered via Slamcore’s ready-to-deploy beacons or compatible accessories.
Powered by the same centralized data platform as Slamcore Aware, Slamcore Alert provides detailed event analytics, including timestamped alerts and pedestrian-vehicle proximity data. This enables facilities to analyze movement patterns, identify high-risk areas, and refine layouts or shift patterns. Easy to install as an aftermarket enhancement with minimal infrastructure, Slamcore Alert offers a scalable, unified approach to improving safety and operational efficiency.
